As a New Jersey Home Stager, I see a lot of oak vanities. Depending on the staging budget, I either recommend we just replace it with something new or paint it. When staging to sell, it’s wise to paint it a color that appeals to most, such as a dark Espresso or Chocolate color like Centsational Girl did here..
She used Valspar’s Betsy Ross House Brown’ #6011-2 in the soft gloss Kitchen & Bath formula and it looks amazing with Brushed Nickel.
Of course, you can never go wrong with a white or off white vanity. Swiss Coffee and Marble White are 2 of my favorites… They are great if you are planning on selling soon and even if you are not, they are classic and will stand the test of time.
But you are not limited to only using chocolate brown or white. The choices are endless and for most, a little intimidating. I recommend staying with neutrals which work well in most situations…
So what other colors work well on bathroom vanities? Anything really, it just depends on the look you are going for and the feeling you are trying to convey.
Have you ever considered Gray? There are so many shades to pick from (green undertones, blue undertones, etc) and the tone you select would be based on the existing fixed elements, like the tile, floor, etc but I’d like to share 5 of my favorites..
Would you paint your vanity gray or do you consider it too trendy and would stick with only traditional cabinetry colors?
If Gray is not your thing but you would still like to paint yours, stop by Pinterest and follow my Paint Color Board where I promise you’ll find so much inspiration, you’ll want to run to the paint store today! If you need a good tutorial on how to do this check out Two Delighted’s tutorial here.
