I can’t believe we are at the end of another week! Spring is officially here but it sure doesn’t look like here in my neck of the woods!
We are going through the process of trying to figure out where my oldest will go to college this Fall and along with that, I’ve been insanely busy working with sellers to get their homes ready for the market and lots of decorating projects. It’s all good but boy do the weeks fly by!
As a NJ Decorator who specializes in Home Staging & Budget decorating services, I get so excited about helping homeowners who think they can’t afford the services of a decorator! This past week I had 2 great new clients that I’m really looking forward to working with..
One just purchased her first home and wants colorful and stylish spaces where they can entertain their friends and family and the other wants a comfortable, functional, cozy space for her family of 3. Very different styles but similar budgets and I’m super excited to get them the look they want without breaking the bank!
With so many online sources and big box retailers, it’s easier than ever to get a stylish home on a teeny budget. I always assume clients know this but I’ve come t find out they don’t!
Of course one can spend hundreds on drapery but there really is no need with these stylish picks from Target. At $29 a panel, they’re affordable and high style!
Media cabinets can be pricey but with $300 or less you can pick up one of these… Don’t you love this yellow one from Target?
8×10 rugs will need to ordered for both clients and a good quality wool one can run in the thousands but I like these and they’re priced under $375!
Seating certainly will eat up most of the budget and here if at all possible, is where I would splurge, especially with a sofa. But there are great buys to be found like these club chairs from Overstock… They are priced around $350!
Along with buying new I’m a big fan of Craigslist and my local thrift stores for great finds that can be spruced up but these particular clients have busy jobs and probably won’t be able to do many DIY projects..
This question is for those of you who are not design bloggers… Do you think decorators are able to help you decorate affordably or are you too intimidated to even call? What’s holding you back from getting the home you love?
