The Versatile Chest Of Drawers

Hey there ~

I am just back from a North Carolina beach vacation and I enjoyed the time off but it’s time to get back into the swing of things. Can you believe the summer is nearly over? So sad…I for one am not ready for fall.

Well today we are going to talk about the ever versatile chest of drawers. You can usually find these at most thrift stores, flea markets and even garage sales. They hold a ton of stuff and can be moved from room to room depending on your needs.

They are great for organizing and can easily be transformed with paint and new hardware.

I love this one in yellow!

And this one in a soft creamy white.

It makes a great changing table with lots of storage.

Great in a bathroom as a vanity.

Or even as a kitchen island.

In a family room/living room to hold movies and remotes or as a media stand to hold a flat screen television.

Why buy a cheap media stand at Target when you can buy a solid wood piece for less than $50?
Can you believe this transformation? Just remove a couple of drawers to add the cable box, etc.
And of course my favorite use for a chest of drawers is a Server/Buffet in a dining room. It’s great for storing linens and napkin rings and candles. I have one in my own dining room.

  1. You always have the best photos!

I especially like the chests used as a center island in the kitchen. I’ve done this in some older homes I’ve lived in. It adds some personality, and like you said, they always hold a ton of stuff.

    Thanks for another good post.
